Luggage limits

Passengers are entitled to take registered (checked) luggage and hand luggage free of charge, some companies might also allow cabin baggage, which corresponds to the prescribed weight and size limits. The information below may be different with individual carriers and flights, therefore we recommend to verify this information prior to departure directly with the airline or travel agency with which you are travelling.

The weight of each individual piece of luggage must not exceed 32 kg due to handling reasons, anything above this weight will not be checked in. At some airlines, the baggage weighing 32 kg must not exceed dimensions of 203 cm (length + width + depth).
 

Charter flights

Checked luggage

The maximum permitted weight for checked luggage is 20 kg per person.
For charter flights, the weight per person combines  +  = 40 kg,  + + = 60 kg, however, the weight of a single item must not exceed 32 kg.
An item whose total weight exceeds 32 kg will not be accepted for carriage.

For some flights, the allowed baggage weight may be further limited. Therefore, before departure, passengers are advised to confirm the maximum baggage weight with their airline or tour operator. In case that the Travel Agency or carrier gives a different weight limit than those shown here, it is necessary to respect their policy.

Hand luggage for charter flights

Passengers are allowed to carry a hand baggage with the maximum weight of 5 kg on board and the maximum measurements are 56 x 45 x 25 cm (width, length, height), a maximum total of 115 cm including straps, side pockets and wheels.

Hand baggage and cabin luggage can contain precious objects, electrical items and personal documents. It is forbidden to carry liquids and gels in this luggage. This includes perfumes, non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, toothpaste, sprays, gels, etc.
According to Commission Regulations (ES) 1546/2006 it is permitted to carry liquids and gels up to 100 ml only in their original packaging. These must be stored in transparent, resealable bags with a capacity of up to 1 litre this is available free of charge at the airport at the safety personnel. This limits are not valid for medication and baby food necessary for the journey.

This restriction on the amount of liquids applies to all passengers departing from EU airports to any destination. Passengers are advised to place all liquids and gels into checked luggage which will be carried in the cargo hold of the aircraft.

Children up the age of two with a valid ticket are entitled to have their luggage checked in under the same conditions as adult passengers.
Children under the age of two that do not have their own seat reserved are entitled to transport of a folded pram/pushchair free of charge and one piece of luggage. The total measurement must not be more than 115 cm and must not weigh more than 10 kg.

On flights operated by Czech Airlines, OK PLUS Silver, Gold or Platinum Card holders and SKYTEAM ELITE or ELITE PLUS holders are entitled to a free extra piece of checked baggage, where the sum of all three dimensions of which must not exceed 158 cm (62 in) and the weight of which must not exceed 23 kg.

One passenger travelling with a Platinum Card OK Plus holder is allowed the free transport of an extra piece of checked luggage (158cm*, 23 kg). 

Hand and cabin luggage for scheduled flights

On scheduled flights, passengers are allowed to bring on board one item of cabin baggage and one item of hand luggage free of charge (Business class) and one item of cabin baggage (Economy class).

• Cabin luggage (maximum measurements – length 56 x width 45 x depth 25 cm, total max. 115 cm including straps, side pockets and wheels) 
• Hand luggage (maximum measurements – length 40 x width 30 x depth 20 cm, including straps, side pockets), i.e. a handbag, small suitcase or a bag with a portable computer.

Unchecked luggage exceeding the permitted dimensions and weight cannot be transported on board the aircraft for safety reasons. Such baggage will be stored and transported as checked in the cargo compartment of the aircraft. If this is the case, passengers will be asked to withdraw valuable and fragile items from the luggage (e.g. medicine, glasses, identity documents and other important documents, money, mobile phones and other electronic devices, jewelry and other valuables).

It is also possible to transport these on board of the plane:

• A child seat with a confirmed reserved place. This child seat must be certified for use in a plane. For safety reasons due to attaching it to the plane seat the bottom part of the child seat must not be wider than 42 cm and deeper than 41 cm. 
• Crutches or foldable wheelchairs or other orthopaedic devices for invalid people. (due to space reasons, wheelchairs for disabled people will be stored in the luggage compartment of the plane, see Transport for disabled passengers ).
   

Oversized Items

Conditions for carriage of oversized items such as bicycles, golf clubs, skis and sporting firearms must be discussed and arranged in advance with your airline company or tour operator that operates the flight. No size restrictions apply to prams/ pushchairs. See Travelling with Children.

Excess baggage weight

If the baggage weight exceeds the limit, passengers have two options:

• reduce the baggage weight;
• pay for the excess weight. However, not all airlines allow passengers to pay for excess baggage.

For scheduled flights with ČSA or CCA, you can pay at their respective counters.
When flying on charter fights operated by Travel Service and Czech Connect Airlines  you can make the payment at the Imformation desk in the Departures Hall.
It is not possible to pay for excess baggage weight at other operators.
