New Bus Service to Connect Ostrava and Leos Janacek Airport, Mošnov

New bus service No. 333 is expected to replace three current bus services, No. 33, No. 690 and bus line No. 910670. Starting 14 June 2009, the above three bus lines will be integrated into one, designated 333 with a flat-rate bus fare and a single route across the City of Ostrava.
During the summer flight schedule the bus service interval on weekdays will be 60 minutes and 120 minutes for the winter flight schedule. At weekends and holidays the interval will be 120 minutes throughout the year. The expected journey time is approx. 40 minutes.

Ostrava Airport’s New Aircraft Recovery Equipment

The Fire and Rescue Service at Ostrava Leos Janacek Airport has tested newly arrived equipment acquired as part of EU projects. Having received a high-pressure air compressor and a vehicle equipped to respond to oil spills, this time the airport received a special container for aircraft recovery operations, thus becoming the second airport in the Czech Republic after Prague’s Ruzyně with similar facilities. The aircraft recovery equipment cost approximately CZK 13 million with 92.5 percent covered from EU funds.

 

First Delivery of Equipment Funded From EU

The airport received the first delivery of the equipment co-funded from the European Union resources within the framework of the Regional Operational Programme NUTS II Moravia Silesia.


Mercedes Benz Sprinter CDI KAWA 4 x 4, a vehicle equipped to respond to oil spills.
